The Food Standards Agency recently released guidance and advice on the current EU approved additives and their E numbers. These include:
- Colourings
- Preservatives
- Antioxidents
- Sweeteners
- Emulsifiers, Stabilisers, Thickeners and Gelling Agents
Most additives are only permitted to be used in certain foods and are subject to specfic quantitative limits, so it is important to use the new policies with the appropriate European Standard.
